About adidas
The journey of one of the most successful sports brands in the world, adidas, began in Herzogenaurach, Germany, by the brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler after the former returned from World War I. On July 1, 1924, they founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory based in their hometown, which, after a break in their relationship, was renamed adidas by combining Adolf Dassler's first and last name and began to provide sports shoes to Olympic track athletes. Adidas' popularity skyrocketed in the 70s, when it launched the first Stan Smith, a tennis-inspired model named after the world-famous tennis player.
