About Jordan
The Jordan brand was created by legendary basketball player Michael Jordan. Nike signed the Jordan brand in 1984 and later licensed the Jordan Brand line, when the young Michael was still a rookie in marketability and professional competition. The Jordan brand has a strong cultural weight in streetwear culture, as evidenced by its debut in 1985, releasing annual top-of-the-line basketball shoe releases that garnered tremendous media, industry, and public acclaim. The company initially focused on manufacturing basketball shoes, but has since expanded into offerings to produce basketball and lifestyle apparel. Michael Jordan, considered the greatest basketball player of all time, wore Jordan shoes throughout his professional career. Michael Jordan retired in 2003, but sneakers remain at the top of many retailers' lists. Michael Jordan remains an integral part and connecting link to this day.
